CFL Exchange Update

The Cooperative’s CFL exchange began in 2008. Many members received a box of three CFL energy-efficient light bulbs. Here is an update about the energy and money members have saved since the program’s inception.

  • As of February 28, 2010, 9,248 members received a box of CFLs
  • 27,744 CFLs were distributed
  • $110,976 was saved for the year. One CFL equals $4.00 saved per year, assuming a three-hours per day use.
  • 1,248,480 kilowatt hours saved per year. One CFL equals 45 kWh saved per year.
