In an effort to hold down costs, Butler Rural Electric Cooperative will run an Automatic Bank Draft promotion from June 1 through October 31, 2018. Anyone who signs up for (or switches to) Automatic Bank Draft with a checking or savings account during this time will be entered to win one of five $100 bill credits.

How to sign up for Automatic Bank Draft

To enroll in Automatic Bank Draft online, follow these easy steps:
  1. Log in to SmartHub or create an account. Click here to access SmartHub. 
  2. Click on "Billings & Payments" and "Auto Pay Program".
  3. On the right side of the page, click on the "Sign Up For Auto Pay" link and then "Bank Account".
  4. Accept the Terms & Conditions.
  5. Enter in and save your checking or savings account information.
  6. Continue paying your bill until your statement reads "Automatic Payment - DO NOT PAY!".
If switching from automatic payments with a debit or credit card:
  1. Log in to SmartHub or create an account. Click here to access SmartHub. 
  2. Click on "Billings & Payments" and "Auto Pay Program".
  3. On the right side of the page, click on the "Change Payment Method" link and then "Bank Account".
  4. Accept the Terms & Conditions.
  5. Enter in and save your checking or savings account information.

However, paying your electric bill can be hassle-free and easy. With Automatic Bank Draft from Butler Rural Electric Cooperative, the net due on your bill is automatically deducted from your checking or savings account each month on the day after the due date. This saves you time and money and will give you the peace of mind knowing it is already taken care of.

In addition to directly saving you money, Automatic Bank Draft also helps the cooperative save money and hold down costs for you, our member. Annually, the cooperative is slapped with thousands of dollars in fees from credit and debit card companies. By signing up for Bank Draft, you eliminate such fees and lower costs for your not-for-profit cooperative. Further, you will never have to remember to update a new card number or expiration date.

Recently, some members have experienced issues with the timely delivery of their monthly bills. A one- or two-day delay in delivery may be caused by many area U.S. Post Office locations ending their overnight shifts. Automatic Bank Draft avoids the stress of waiting on the mail and making a timely payment — it happens automatically.

Automatic Bank Draft is absolutely secure. All personal information is encrypted and strictly confidential. You will continue to receive paper bills in the mail, if desired, so that you can review all charges and information. The payment will be deducted from your account on the day after the “Draft Date” stated on the bill. Sign-up is free and you can terminate at any time with 10-days advance notice.
 



Agreement

By signing up for Automatic Bank Draft, an agreement is made and concluded in Butler County, Ohio between Butler Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc (the Cooperative) and you (the Member) on the date Automatic Bank Draft information is received and processed by the Cooperative.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicable to any active Member* who authorizes the Cooperative to use bank account information to deduct payment from bank account.

Terms and Conditions

  • By providing bank account information and signature, the Member authorizes the Cooperative to use the Member’s bank account information to make payments on the listed account.
  • Payments will continue to be processed in the original manner established until Automatic Bank Draft information is received and processed. Processing may take up to ten business days.
  • It is the Member’s responsibility to notify the Cooperative with any changes to bank account information to avoid late payment or penalty.
  • Either party can elect to terminate this agreement with proper notification to the other party. The effective termination date may vary from case to case due to current processes that may already be in place. In the event that this agreement is terminated, it is the obligation of the Member to submit timely payments as set forth in the Cooperative’s policy and rate schedules.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicable to any active Member* who was not an existing participant in the Automatic Bank Draft program as of June 1, 2018.

Terms and Conditions

  • Member agrees to participate in Automatic Bank Draft program for 12 months to qualify for prize drawing.
  • Automatic Bank Draft information must be received by October 31, 2018 to qualify for prize drawing.

*Seasonal accounts are not eligible for Automatic Bank Draft and do not qualify for the promotion.
